Organic and Home Produced Breakfasts

Untitled Document

Breakfast is often quoted as being "the most important meal of the day" Well, we're not sure if that's true or not, but we do like to give guests as good a start to their day as we can!

Cereals

Maybe start with orange juice and then a choice of cereals:
Try our home-mixed muesli full of nuts (including peanuts) seeds, grains and dried fruits or choose from the other breakfast cereals.
The thick yoghurt is home produced.
Help yourself to fresh fruit and there will be some home stewed fruit too.

Traditional Scottish Porridge

Alternatively try our traditional porridge which we make the old-fashioned, well tried and tested way with pinhead oatmeal, steeped with a little salt and water in the Aga overnight, then finished with milk in the morning.

Cooked Breakfast using local quality food

Cooked breakfast is served from 8am until 9am, but cereals, tea, coffee and toast can be served until 10am. If you want breakfast earlier or if you want a lie-in and a late breakfast, just speak with us to arrange it!
Cooked breakfast - choose from :-

Meat choice:

Pork sausage - made by our butcher, Michael Mustard, in Nethy Bridge; Oak smoked back bacon is also from Michael.
Mushrooms - if you are lucky and it's the season, these will be wild, probably chanterelles.
Tomatoes, which later in the summer could be our own.
Eggs - free-range from the croft down the road.
You can have them fried, scrambled, boiled ...

Fish choice:

Fish can be a kipper from the Moray Firth coast or a smoked haddock fillet. Or you can enjoyed locally smoked salmon in scrambled eggs.

Preserves:

All preserves are home made from our own organic fruit and we make our dark marmalade from bitter Seville oranges. We serve local heather honey which we hope will be from Ian's bees.

Bread for toast is also home-made.
