| Auchendean's
own 1.5 acre Gardens |
 |
Full
of hundreds of daffodils in many different varieties - and many
other spring flowers; then colour all year long from bushes and
herbaceous plants. Complete with a small 9 hole pitch and putt golf
course, the whole garden has stunning views throughout.
Garden seats are dotted around to enjoy the views if you strike
it right with the weather - maybe with a drink from the bar?...
We have a large soft fruit growing area, and a small section for
fruit trees. The garden merges naturally with Curr Wood - except
for the deer fence!
Have a look at the following pages, but as they
contain many pictures,
please be patient! the download is a little slow: |

Abernethy
Gardens Tour
Held each year in June,
with 10 varied gardens to visit. The gardens are completely different
and offer unusual views of the Strath and Mountains. The admission price
gets a map of the gardens open and includes tea / coffee and a light snack
at Auchendean. More substantial lunches are available for a small extra
cost. Some gardens usually have plants for sale.
The proceeds from ticket sales and lunches are all donated to a local
charity or organisation. £725 was donated in 2005 to the Abernethy
Highland Games and 2006 proceeds will be given to The Castle Roy Trust
to help stabilise one of Scotland's oldest castles. Castle Roy is situated
just north of Nethy Bridge and can be seen from Auchendean Lodge. See
