Auchendean sits on a hillside backed by Curr Wood, famous for its wildlife - from the very rare Twinflower to Creeping Ladies Tresses, breeding Capercaillie, Crested Tits, Crossbills, Red Squirrels and unusual wild fungi.
In the distance to the west are the Monadhlaith Mountains, and the River Spey meanders in the foreground.
