Sueno's Stone, on the outskirts of Forres. Now encased to protect it from weathering. At over 7 tons and 23 feet high, it's origins are a mystery as it has a cross on it as well as elaborate battle scenes with decapitated bodies.

Some feel it is the stone from the grave of Sigurd, a powerful Earl of Orkney who defeated Maelbrigd and decapitated the "Men of Moray".

The name Sueno, bestowed in 1726 shortly after the stone's discovery, refers to the son of Harald, King of Denmark, who, in 1008 defeated the Scots under Malcom 3rd at the Battle of Forres.
