Corgarff Castle, a 16th century tower house converted by building a star shaped curtain wall after the Battle of Culloden, to a barracks for Hanoveriean government troops.
Later use was for over 50 men to police whisky smuggling in Strathdon.

Situated at Cockbridge, on the A939, Tomintoul to Ballater road - well known as one of the first roads each winter to be closed due to snow and ice.
