2003/2004 - The Twinflower was declared the "County Flower" for Inverness-shire
-in a ballot carried out by the charity "Plantlife". Here are some pictures of the Twinflower in Curr Wood, behind Auchendean, where 90% of Britain's Twinflowers grow. Following the wonderful summer last year, the 2004 flowering was better than we have ever seen, and being members of the honeysuckle family, the scent on a still day was wonderful!

Rudi, Diane, Mike & Beverley - all Auchendinians - met up on the QM2's maiden voyage to New York.

This year's new arrivals... 18 new chickens (L) - so fingers crossed that the fox / pine marten / whatever doesn't get them - and you get your breakfast egg!
and (R) Caol (Cool) and Ila (Ella) both one day old and rejected by their mothers.. Auchendean's 14th year in sharing with guests the delights of rearing lambs on the bottle.......
