Auchendean Lodge

Lounge and Dining Room

The lounge is light and airy, with windows in three directions. To the north is the large well stocked garden complete with Auchendean's tricky pitch and putt course. Also there are views of Strathspey; the River Spey and the Cromdale Hills. To the west is a view into Curr Wood, a conservation woodland which we have direct access into. Curr Wood contains many rare species including 95% of the UK's population of twinflower, a scrambling honeysuckle. We helped to save this plant when the wood was about to be felled in 1998. You might also see red squirrels, capercaillie, crested tits and scottish crossbill. Pine marten and scottish wildcat are 2 other species we occasionally see.
To the south are the Cairngorm Mountains, seen over the River spey and Abernethy Forest, and we see a few houses from the picturesque village of Nethy Bridge.
The lounge has an open fire with a supply of wood.

 

Kitchen

This is a modern fitted kitchen with cooker, hob, microwave and clothes washing machine.
Views from the window are to the River Spey, Cromdale Hills and to Auchendean's well stocked garden with It's tricky pitch and putt course. There are chairs scattered around the garden for a relaxing cuppa or picnic lunch.
We stock the kitchen with a few basic herbs and spices (you can always ask if there is something else you need) but in season there may also be fresh organic herbs to spare, also possibly some vegetables ...

 

Bathroom

The bathroom has a modern glass shower cubicle with a good flow of water, and a large enamel art deco bath with a hand shower at the taps.The bathroom is comfortably spacious. There is a hair dryer and soap & towels are included.

 

Bedroom

The bedroom is very light and airy, with windows in 2 directions. It has a wardrobe and chest of drawers and a double bed with duvet. Sheets and blankets are available if requested. There is an electric blanket and all bed linen is included.
