There are countless places to walk from Auchendean. So many that they can't possibly be listed, but here are a few of our own favourite walks to whet your appetite! Click on the links for more details of each walk or look at this excellent site - Walk Highlands

We see 8 Munro tops from Auchendean. Ben A'an, Beinn a' Chaorainn, Bynack More, Beinn a'Bhuird, Ben Mheadhoin, Cairngorm, Cairn Toul, Ben MacDui.

Law in Scotland has enshrined the right to walk anywhere - but with responsibility; so not through crops, no gates to be left open, not through gardens close to houses etc. You take responsibility for twisting your ankle on a rock, and for having the right clothing etc to suit the needs of your walk.

Low Level Walks

Walk 1) Speyside Way from Nethy Bridge to Grantown-on-Spey. 4 Miles. Easy - Taxi required for return.

Walk 2) Circular walk at Carrbridge to remote Sluggan Bridge over the River Dulnain. 10 miles. Relatively easy. Ford crossing at one place.

Walk 3) Circular walk around Loch an Eilein. Walk in to avoid outrageous car park costs. 6 miles. Easy.

Walk 4) Walk from the back of Auchendean around Curr Wood. 1 hour. Easy.

Walk 5) Ailneck Gorge walk. 2 hours. Easy.

Walk 6) Grantown Woods 1 to 4 hours. Easy.

Walk 7) From Nethy Bridge to Ryvoan Pass. 4 hours. Easy.

Walk 8) From Glenmore through the Ryvoan Pass to Green Lochan and Ryvoan Bothy. 2 hours. Easy.

Walk 9) Walk along the River Findhorn. 3 Hours. Easy.

Walk 10) Dava Way - Dava to Sluie; Dava to Grantown. Both 4 hours. Easy

Local Long Distance Tracks

Path 1) Speyside Way. From Aviemore to Spey Bay on the Moray Coast. A spur goes off to Tomintoul.

Path 2) Dava Way. From Grantown-on-Spey to Dava.

High Level Walks

Climb 1) Climb to the top of Bynack More - a Munro. Hard. 7 hours.

Climb 2) Climb to the top of Meall a' Bhuachaille - a Corbet. Medium hard. 5 hours.

Climb 3) Through the Chalamain Gap to Castle Hill. Medium hard. 4 hours.

Climb 4) Corrie na Ciste east wall to Cairngorm and across to see Loch A'an. Hard. 5 Hours.

Climb 5) Ben Rinnes. Medium hard. 4 Hours.
