White Water rafting on the grade 4 waters of the River Findhorn - 30 minutes from Auchendean
There are more and more ways to enjoy the areas lochs and rivers. All activities should be taken under the watchful eye of a professional, and every participant must wear safety gear.
Float down the River Spey on a raft, sipping Gin & Tonic(?s) and watching the wildlife and scenery slip by. See Ace Adventures 'Spey Safari' for details of this, where you float on the river from Aviemore to Broomhill and then if you choose you can get the steam train back.
Not your thing? How about a canoe trip on the river? Otherwise there are 2 Highland lochs - Loch Insh and Loch Morlich both under the Cairngorms where you can sail, kayak, row and windsurf.
For the shear thrill of it, you can go White Water Rafting on the River Findhorn, 40 minutes from Auchendean. The waters there are grade 4 and thrilling at any time of the year.
Otherwise, try Canyoning where you descend and ascend steep narrow burns and jump into deep pools, shooting down natural water slides, swimming behind waterfalls and testing your climbing skills against the flow.
Or try water bugs which are comfortable seats in rubber tyres which you sit in to float down the rapids.
Then there's Rock Jumping where you simply jump into the waters from high rocks!
Ace Adventure are the people to contact for all of the adrenaline watersports, they do the above adventures on several rivers, but primarily the River Findhorn. Take a look at the photo gallery on their web site to see what fun all of this is.
