We closed the restaurant some years ago but if you want to bring in food, don’t hesitate to ask for plates and cutlery. We would prefer that you eat in the Guests Lounge/Breakfast Room rather than your bedroom.
Bedroom 3: MacLean
Double bedded room with walk-in shower.
The bedroom suite is French Art Nouveau and the room has magnificent views out over the River Spey and Cromdale Hills. You can also watch the Strathspey Steam Railway’s steam train in the fields below (in season).
Bedroom 4: Grant
Queen bed with bath and shower over.
This bedroom is in the corner and has views in 2 directions. Over the River Spey to the Cromdale Hills and over the Strathspey Steam Railway (Broomhill or Glen Bogle Station) to Nethy Bridge, the Abernethy Forest and the Cairngorm Mountains. There are 6 Munro mountain peaks to spot.
This room has a bath with shower over.
Bedroom 8: Farquharson
Queen bed and Single bed with bath and walk-in shower.
The only bedroom on the second floor, this room enjoys large windows to take in the huge views in 2 directions. You can see the River Spey, the Cromdale Hills and Strathspey Steam Railway and their Broomhill or Glen Bogle Station, Nethy Bridge, the Abernethy Forest and up to the Cairngorm Mountain tops.
This room can be a Double, Twin or Family room. Please enquire prices for the family room setup.
Start with Muesli or Porridge. The muesli is home-mixed and we like to make porridge the traditional way with pinhead oatmeal steeped in the aga overnight. For this reason we ask that you pre-warn us the night before.
Help yourself to fruit and home-made yoghurt etc as displayed.
Maybe enjoy a healthy kipper caught off the Moray Firth and smoked the time-honoured way nearby.
You may prefer a pork sausage made in Nethy Bridge with thick cut smoked back bacon? Our butcher also makes his own Black Pudding. Add in a tomato, some mushrooms (in season these may be wild fungi – a speciality of the house) and a fried egg.
Our eggs come from a local crofter as long as his chooks are co-operating. Have them fried, scrambled or poached or simply boiled.
Bread is home-made where possible, light wholemeal. Toasted, it comes with local honey, jam made from our own fruit where possible and home-made marmalade.
Special diets. Please get in touch with us if you have special requirements but remember that we are a long way from specialist shops. If you need anything in particular it might be safer to bring a supply with you.
