Gay owned and run B&B and Self Catering Accommodation in the Highlands of Scotland
Auchendean Lodge is gay owned and run by Eric Hart and Ian Kirk, in the Cairngorms National Park, a magical part of the Highlands of Scotland.
We have a sensational setting looking over huge unobscured views of Strathspey from the River Spey in the fields below us up to the Cromdale Hills and Cairngorm Mountains. We also look onto the Strathspey Steam Railway in the fields below us.

Eric & Ian
Ian is a Kiwi from Wanganui, New Zealand and Eric is from Banbury in Oxfordshire.
We met in 1985 in London, moved to Auchendean in 1986, converted the building into a small hotel and opened up at the start of 1988 with Eric being the chef and Ian front of house. And that is still how we run the BnB with Eric cooking your breakfast and Ian serving it.
We closed the restaurant in 2007 but still run three double rooms as a B&B and also have a Self Catering Flat on site suitable for 2 people.
Approximately one-third of our guests are gay – but all are gay-friendly!
If you would like to explore this sensationally beautiful part of Scotland don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will help you all we can.
We celebrated our CP in 2006, 21 years after getting together.
